Campina Grande investiga morte de criança por suspeita de meningite • Jornal da Paraíba
8 de maio de 2024A Secretaria de Saúde de Campina Grande confirmou que uma criança morreu, nesta terça-feira (7), por suspeita de meningite, no Hospital da Criança e do Adolescente (HCA). A unidade hospitalar isolou a área de atendimento e está realizando a profilaxia com todas as pessoas que tiveram com a criança.
A criança é de outro município, foi socorrida e levada pelo Samu até o hospital, mas quando chegou na unidade estava em estado grave. Ela foi levada diretamente para a UTI, mas não resistiu.
A equipe do hospital fechou o diagnóstico clínico de meningite meningocócica pelas características do caso e a rápida evolução para óbito. A criança apresentava letargia, otite, febre, rigidez na nuca e secreção purulenta. A família já está velando o corpo da criança.
O caso foi notificado e está sendo acompanhado pela Vigilância em Saúde. A Secretaria de Saúde também se solidarizou com os familiares.
